Lottery winner gives more than half of her $145M fortune to charity

She says that she has become 'addicted' to helping others. Almost all of us have dreamt of winning the lottery. But the biggest question, and probably the only hypothetical question that all of us entertained, is what will you do when you win that kind of money?

Sports cars and mansions are the usual answers together with luxury goods like bags and shoes.

But for this UK woman, it’s all about giving back.

Frances Connolly, 55, won the EuroMillions in 2019. The former social worker and teacher from Nothern Ireland scored a whopping £115 million fortune or about $145 million.

The first thing they did was share their blessings with friends and family. In fact, she has a list prepared in advance just in case she won – and it was something she believed in since.

But their biggest beneficiary wasn’t family.

With the money, Connolly set up two charitable foundations. One was named after her late mother Kathleen Graham. The foundation is currently based in Northern Ireland. The other one is the PFC Trust which supports local carers, the elderly, and refugees in her hometown. At that point, she estimates that she has given away more than half of her total winnings. She even had to keep it a secret from her husband.

Giving back to the community isn’t new to Connolly.

Just as people say, money doesn’t change you, it only amplifies who you really are. Connolly has volunteered with St. John Ambulance as a child. She was also part of an AIDS hotline while she was studying in Belfast. “If I had any advice for a winner… I’d say money liberates you to be the person that you want to be.” She said as quoted by BBC. Currently, she’s still involved in their community, especially with the unemployed, refugees, caregivers, and elderly. She also provided tablets for the seniors so they can regularly keep in touch with their families.

Connolly shares that helping others is addictive.

When asked by local news outlets whether she was happy to give so much money away, she just said: “Why wouldn’t you? I’ve done that all my life.” She also added that she would’ve been a millionaire anyway if she took back all the money she gave away over the years. She also spent £5,000 to buy clothes and toiletries for Ukrainian refugees.

They didn’t forget themselves, however.

To date, the couple’s biggest purchase was a six-bedroom house in County Durham with seven acres of land. Mr. Connolly is also driving a second-hand Aston Martin. Living luxuriously is something she frowned upon. She shared that she saw on a TV show that someone spent £25,000 on a bottle of champagne. She thought that kind of money could’ve been used better by helping people.

The couple still lives normally.

Mr. Connolly still runs their plastics businesses while she works with the foundations she established. And even if she’s spent so much helping people, she doesn’t regret any of it. “If you can do good things for deserving people, why wouldn’t you just do it?” she said, as quoted by Mirror UK, “It makes no sense to me to have that kind of money and not use it to do good in the world.”

Flying dragons belong to the Agamidae household of lizards and they live in the tropical forests of South East Asia.

They are have 8 to 10 inches long, these animals have membranes on the sides of their trunks.

They allow them to glide from one tree to the various other quickly and they rise to 60 meters in range while losing only 10 meters in altitude.

They beautifully glide from tree to tree and come in various colors.

Their diet includes primarily insects like tree ants. In the reproduction season, the male utilizes the membranes to attract the females and thus starts the mating procedure.

When the female lays eggs, it makes a small hole in the ground and lays about 4-5 eggs, covers them with soil and leaves. The female only stays with the eggs for 24 hours. Afterwards she a.ban.dons them and climbs back to the tree.

The colors and the characterizes of each flying dragon differ depending upon the types. Nevertheless, they all have one feature in common.

Various but beautiful and let them stay in nature where they belong and not someone pet. Selectively breed larger of the types with each other for bigger ones until we get Spyro sized dragons.

Beautiful, diverse, incredible creatures designed and created by God thousands of years ago when He produced the entire world. Incredible little creatures nature at its best … Incredible in their very own method.

Golden Girls Reboot Says “Hell No” To Whoopi Goldberg Playing Dorothy

The reboot of “The Golden Girls” is set to start filming as soon as the show’s producers finish building the cast. So far, they’ve filled the roles for Rose, Blanche, and Sophia, but finding the perfect Dorothy has been a challenge.

One thing casting director Joe Barron says he refuses to do is give in to “woke culture” and hand the role to someone on name recognition alone. “I won’t even consider Whoopi Goldberg,” he said, “she’s toxic on any set.”

The Dorothy character has to be a bit brazen and even a little unlikeable, but for the most part, the audience has to rally around her for the show to be successful. They may be much better off going with someone like Roseanne Barr or Patricia Heaton.

They’ve already caved a bit on the wokeness, with Bette Midler cast as Rose and Jane Fonda playing Blanche. They did, however, toss in some political diversity by giving the role of Sophia to Kevin Sorbo, who had to agree to play her non-binary.

‘We need to toss a conservative in there to balance the scales,” said Barron, “we’re honestly hoping Judge Jeannine Pirro will take on the role.

That would be amazing. As long as it isn’t Whoopi Goldberg, it doesn’t really matter who gets it. Go Bless America.

A Rare Opportunity To See The World’s Rarest Black Bear, Which Is Cream-Colored

“The uniqueness of this cub is that it’s not a pure white, but rather a caramel-cream, very light brown in color,” says the author.

According to de Jong, this judgment is supported by the cub’s pink snout and lack of any discernible coloring. The noses of spirit bears are black.

The recent finding of a virtually white bear cub in the area’s mountains, according to Whistler bear specialist Michael Allen, is the first he’s seen in 23 years of research.

He wrote earlier this week in an entry to his daily bear viewing report, “I have seen cubs ranging [from] black, reddish-brown, chocolate-brown to blonde (after summer bleaching of coat), but, never have [I] seen a cub with pelage this light to almost white.”

Last week, tour guide Kathy Jenkins noticed the unusual pup playing with a local black mother bear. A few days after Jenkins initially caught a sight of the cub, Arthur De Jong claims to have seen it playing with its mother on (Exact location withheld) on Thursday.

Such a bear has never before been sighted in the ski region, according to the environmental planning manager of (Exact location withheld), who took some pictures of it when he saw it “pure by chance.”

According to De Jong, bear cubs have a 50/50 chance of surviving their first year, and he worries that the “little guy” will eat trash and develop a habit of approaching people.
