For most people, getting out of the city and immersing themselves in what Mother Nature has to offer is a process that yields a great many benefits. It’s why certain individuals make a habit of it, working it into their weekly routine to keep themselves grounded and level-headed. 

An added bonus is that you never truly know what you’ll encounter when you decide to lose yourself outdoors… 

Kym Beechey, a woman from Australia, reportedly loves taking walks and appreciating nature’s beauty. A keen amateur photographer, she aims to get shots of the more impressive things she sees, though that can be difficult given how skittish most animals, birds, and insects are. 

In any case, Kym was out one day when she thought she’d caught a glimpse of a baby tawny frogmouth (a bird resembling an owl). Kym took out her phone and quietly prepared to snap a photo. It looked to her like the bird wore an expression similar to a smile, so she zoomed in hoping to get the perfect picture. Yet no sooner had she done so than did she realize her mistake. 

The bird wasn’t a bird at all, but rather a banksia pod. These often-funny looking pods grow out of banksia trees, and can be extremely unique in their appearance. See Kym’s photo below: As per reports, banksia trees grow predominantly in south western Australia, though can also be found in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Banksia trees are not classified as conifers, though their pods are often compared to pine cones. 

The unique appearance of banksia pods is said to come from their pods bursting open – often in the heat of forest fires – a process that then releases their seeds. 

Kym said she had a good laugh over what she initially thought was a “baby bird”, and now has a rather unique photo to add to her collection. I for one didn’t know these trees even existed. Did you?

Many people were perplexed and left scratching their heads over this challenge. “This is why you have to watch every step in the woods,” the caption stated. The majority of users couldn’t see anything on the image. “They’re just stretching the truth. There actually isn’t a snake there, someone commented. Awesome camo! Another said, “I still haven’t seen it, even though I usually can. 

Missouri Wildlife published a second image to which they circled the serpent after several people claimed they couldn’t see what they thought was a snake on the first one. 

“Once you see it, you can’t unsee it, but I sure struck out without your marking it!” exclaimed someone. The snake is a Copperhead, one of the most widespread venomous snakes in North America. Although their bites seldom result in fatalities for humans and their venom is very mild, the hemotoxins in their venom can temporarily damage muscular tissue, assault the circulatory system, and result in breathing issues. 

The skin-damaging sharp fangs of these snakes make up for their lack of poison. If treated, the bite is reversible. According to Live Science, copperhead snakes are pit vipers, like rattlesnakes and water moccasins, and have “heat-sensory pits between eye and nostril on each side of the head,” which are able to detect minute differences in temperature. 

This allows the snakes to precisely strike the source of heat, which is frequently potential prey. Around 2,920 of the 7,000 to 8,000 snake bites that occur in the United States each year, according to study, are caused by copperheads. 

After discovering three Copperhead snakes hidden in the grass, a dog owner in Fairfax, Virginia, recently called K2C Wildlife Encounters. Thanks to their knowledge, experience, and keen eyes, wildlife control agents were able to locate the elusive snakes. Later, they shared two pictures of the snakes skulking in the grass and challenged viewers to find them. 

“Need to draw a red hat on it so we can do a Where’s Waldo,” one person commented under the photo. The other photo showed the snakes inside a red bucket. “Look what happens when you have copperheads in leaves,” K2C Wildlife Encounters wrote in a Facebook post. “Magic, they disappear!”

“Snakes are often demonized in the media, and then myths and urban legends play on those created fears,” Bonnie Keller, K2C Wildlife Encounters cofounder, said. “Snakes of any species are much less likely to cause you harm than a dog, horse, cat [or] even a rabbit.” 

Those who live in locations where snakes are likely to exist should educate themselves, Keller said.

“Learn about your local snakes so that you understand what they look like and where they are most likely to be found. Knowledge is power.” 

If bitten by a snake one should seek medical help right away. Snakes, of course, are an essential component of the ecosystem, so if you see one outside, be sure to get out of its path. Call a pet service if you happen to find one inside your house.

Last year, Linda posted on Instagram the heartbreaking news that her 56-year-old son Jeff Thrasher had passed away. ‘A memorial service for my son Jeff.’ She added, “He was the nicest, funniest, sweetest human being….. he brought the world so much love and was loved by everyone!” ‘May his voyage be filled with magic.’ 

‘I am sorry for your loss,’ and ‘Don’t know what to say!’ her fans said in response to the devastating news. ‘From Scotland, sending you love and a big embrace.’ ‘Linda Please accept my apologies. Jordana Brewster, her Dallas co-star, commented, “I am sending you all of my love and strength.” 

Linda uploaded a photo of Jeff riding his bike down a street lined with fall leaves, as well as a photo of his name written in the sand with a heart around it while the waves crashing in the backdrop. 

Jeff had been battling leukemia for quite some time. Linda was married to Ed Thrasher from 1962 to 1983, and he is Jeff’s father. Linda also has a 55-year-old daughter, actress Kelly Sloane, who is married to Lance Sloane and has two children with him. Jeff worked as a TV director and producer, with Junior Chef Showdown being his most recent job.

The woman asked if she might take their picture since she suddenly had this strange need to. According to Joyce’s Facebook post, “I took this picture, and then I gave my phone to their daughter, and I told her to send it to one of their phones.” 

Joyce was surprised to get a phone message from an unknown number a few days after their brief but enjoyable encounter. He checked the message and felt a shiver run down his spine as he read it. You took a picture of us in front of an ice cream shop on June 8th, dear lady. Since my wife died away yesterday, this is the final photo we have of my entire family. Accept my deepest gratitude for your considerate response. It is quite important to me. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. 

After hearing this message, which just left her shaken, Joyce kept in touch with her father and found out that the woman had been ill for a year. It’s incredible that I gave them this present, which now means the world to them, simply because I followed my gut that day, Joyce wrote in her post. 

My heart is now heavy because it is with this adorable family that I don’t even know, she added. “Never underestimate a beautiful gesture you make at random, apparently out of a whim of the moment,” she advised. I’m amazed. 

They could be seen snuggling on a constant basis. In fact, the two of them had been together since Noah was born. When Laika became ill, Noah’s parents raced her to the animal clinic. The veterinarian had a grim diagnosis that would rock their world and break Noah’s heart. Laika had a tumor and needed expensive specialized surgery to save her life. 

But because it was risky, there was no guarantee Laika would make it through. The vet gave them the option of euthanizing Laika. Knowing they didn’t have the money to help her, Noah’s parents made the decision to put her down. But before it was time for Laika to go, they took her on a beautiful vacation where she could enjoy her family. Noah paid extra attention to Laika, snuggling her more frequently than before. It was as if the boy knew Laika was sick and needed him more than ever. 

 

The inevitable time came and Noah’s family knew this would destroy them all. Suddenly, they got a phone call. It was the animal clinic that had surprising news. 

One of the vet techs posted Laika’s story online and donations came pouring in for her surgery. The family was elated. Noah’s parents explained to him that Laika had to go to the doctor’s for a lengthy period of time. He held his dog tight and told her everything would be okay. 

The dog had suffered from many health issues before and her family nervously awaited as she went in for surgery. After the procedure, it was touch and go but Laika eventually pulled through! 

The staff believed that because of all the love and special attention she got from her doting family, she fought harder to survive.

The large bumblebee was laying in the road with an injured wing. Even though she tried multiple times to place the bee in a safe place around flowers, the bee kept coming back to her and perching on her shoulder. Eventually, she decided to head home with the bee. 

The bumblebee made a quick recovery but still opted to stay by Lacey’s side no matter where she goes or what she is doing. The bee, whom Lacey named Betty, will even go to the bowling alley or the store with her new best friend. Betty the bumblebee even sleeps contentedly in a little pot beside Lacey’s bed every night. 

Lacey said, “I’m so happy, and I just love spending my time with her. She’s so fluffy, and I love our friendship.” 

Betty eats a sweet diet of sugar water, honey, and strawberry jam and regularly goes outside with Lacey to enjoy flower nectar as well. However, she never flies away and always follows Lacey inside. The whole family has accepted Betty and allows her to have free roam of the house. 

Despite the fact that bumblebees can sting multiple times without injuring themselves. Betty has never stung Lacey or her family, and prefers to spend 90% of her time perched somewhere on Lacey. Bees are known to be highly intelligent insects. In fact, as PBS reported in 2017, they are so smart that they're able to learn behaviors that lead to rewards—along the lines of how a dog might learn to "sit" so that it can get a treat.

The insects also communicate with one another, using a mix of "head-butting, jostling each other and dancing."

However, the lumps could not be removed: the rescue said that the surgery to remove them would just be for cosmetic reasons and ran the risk of brain trauma. With the lumps permanent, the rescue was determined to find a family who would love this little “unicorn” dog despite her appearance. 

“We love our little unicorn just the way she is and we know we will find somebody who feels the same!” they wrote.

Strawberry is such a beautiful dog, and we’re so happy that she has found a home to love her just the way she is! 

The amazing stunt took place in the middle of the night at New Zealand’s national aquarium, after an employee apparently left the lid to the octopus’ tank slightly ajar. 

Staff believe Inky took the opportunity to climb up over the top of his glass enclosure, slide down the side of the tank and slither across 8 feet of flooring to a drainpipe that empties into the ocean.

“Octopuses are fantastic escape artists,” Alix Harvey, an aquarist at the Marine Biological Association in England, told The New York TimesSource. 

Kalimantan is known for its diverse wildlife and dense rainforests with a lot of rare flora and fauna. Irrawaddy dolphins, also known as orcaella brevirostris, are rare dolphins that have been recently discovered. 

The researchers are pleased with the preliminary findings and hope that they will help reveal information about the population and distribution of this unique species. Albertus Tjiu, WWF-Indonesia Conservation Biologist and a pioneer in Irrawaddy dolphin research. 

The study provides clear evidence of the biodiversity of Kalimantan waters, as well as the importance of protecting dolphin habitats beginning with the origins of rivers in Central Borneo. The IUCN lists Irrawaddy dolphins as vu.lne.rable, there are approximately 6,000 Irrawaddy dolphins worldwide, with the majority living in the coastal waters of Bangladesh. 

The rest are scattered throughout Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Australia’s northeastern coast, where they are listed as [cri.tic.ally end.ang.ered]. Irrawaddy dolphins seem to enjoy spit water in the faces of their friends and swimming back and showing off their neck fat. 

Hopefully, this lovely creature will have a better habitat and will be able to increase its population! That is just amazing absolutely beautiful! We hope there is extreme protection for these wonderful mammals.

Pray They Do Everything Possible Tp Protect These Beautiful Dolphins!

All Internet users who had the chance to witness a photograph of a strange egg clinging to the ceiling got shivers. The egg dripping from a room’s ceiling provoked a flurry of emotions and intense debate. 

“Does anyone have any idea what that is?” a strange egg appeared on the room’s ceiling. 

“This is in the closet of a friend’s son.” They’re not sure if he’s always been there and they’ve just spotted him now, or if he’s only recently appeared. It’s been a long time since they’ve moved there.

Is there anyone who knows what it is? “And what should she do?” says the narrator. According to 7news.com.au, Amy posted on a popular Facebook page dedicated to Australians.

An Internet user commented, “If we were billions of years ago, I would have claimed it was a dinosaur egg.” 

“My husband worked with the rodent and believes it’s an egg-filled spider’s nest. You can vacuum it and then spray it heavily with insecticide. Another online user proposed the following solution: “If it’s a spider’s nest, there will be thousands of them there.” 

Another individual suggested, “I advise a protective suit, insect spray, and fire, stab him and see what happens, at least you’ll be ready.” 

What, exactly, was the strange egg suspended from the ceiling?

When it was revealed what it was, though, everyone was speechless. Amy’s father-in-law “intervened” by taking his heart between his teeth and solving the mystery. 

Few would have guessed that the strange egg was only an expanding foam used on the house’s roof that had entered the ceiling. 

Things get even more complicated when you have special needs. LJ Compton has Down syndrome and is on the autism spectrum, so when his afternoon bus was late arriving to Garfield Elementary School in Marion, Ohio, the little boy had a hard time processing his feelings.

Even though they live closer to another school, LJ’s mother Steph chose Garfield because of the care and attention their staff has always shown her son. She said LJ’s a happy little guy who almost always has a smile on his face, but sometimes, he gets overwhelmed and goes through a meltdown. 

This was one of those days, and Steph wasn’t around to help him through it. Thankfully, someone else was! 

Steph had no idea what happened until she saw a picture of her son on Facebook. It was posted by Amber McKinniss, a student aide, who commented, “I just had to snap a picture. It was the-most amazing thing I’ve seen!” Stretched out on the pavement next to LJ was John Smith, a longtime teacher and the school’s newest assistant principal. The incredible educator didn’t hesitate for a moment before meeting LJ right where he was, dirt - and all! The photo went viral, and soon everyone was chiming in with positive remarks about John and the school’s dedication to providing a supportive environment for every child. 

“Mr. Smith was the best teacher,” one person wrote. “So glad he carries that with him as a principal! Such a great guy!” Another said, “Mr. Smith is one of my favorite teachers. He’s the best.” 

It’s moments like this that reinforce Steph’s decision to drive her son a little further every day. 

“It’s really awesome to know from a parent’s standpoint that there are people that care that much about your child,'' she said. This school administrator clearly understands that kids need time and comfort to process their feelings. John was not afraid to get a little dirty if it meant getting through to LJ — and we can all take a page from his book! 

However, not many people realize that they come in such a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. When you stop and think of a horse, chances are you’ve got one very specific image in mind. 

There’s a breed of horse you’ve probably never heard of that’s here to shake everything up! They’re called Curlies, and when you first see them, you’ll realize that they’re as cute and cuddly as can be! 

Curlies all have a gene that gives them their distinct “curly” look. That’s right, Mother Nature loved this particular breed of horse so much that she saw fit to design these horses to be born with curls folks would pay to get for themselves! Curlies are considered “hypoallergenic” because of their lack of a protein in their hair that can cause allergic reactions in some people. That missing protein actually changes the way these horses form dander. Their thick coats protect them in colder environments and in winter. If Santa Claus ever thinks about giving his reindeer a year off, these horses would be good replacements! That is, if they could also fly. You never forget the first time you see one of these horses. A horse this unique in appearance leaves a definite impression long after it’s gone. 

While you may not have seen one before, these horses aren’t new. Though their origin is debated, they’ve been around for a long time. 

When it comes to determining just how long certain animals have been on the planet, it can be tricky. Very often we rely on written accounts and art from the time.
