The Dodo was informed by Knudtson that “Brutus is just a big teddy bear.” “He enjoys cuddling with others and craves attention.” When Knudtson was 20 weeks pregnant with Finn, an anatomy scan indicated a significant heart abnormality. Soon after his birth, Finn had a number of procedures until he was prepared for open heart surgery. 

Knudtson remarked, “We were really fortunate to have found this before he was born, else he would not be with us now." 

After seven weeks and a few issues, Finn was able to go back home. And after meeting his younger brother, 

He immediately sensed a bond. When we returned home, it seemed as though Brutus intuitively realized that Finn required extra close supervision, and he has remained at his side ever since. Knudtson remarked. Whether they are eating, playing outside, watching TV, or taking a nap, they are always together because they adore each other. 

Knudtson noted that “Brutus frequently curls up wherever Finn is sitting in our house and follows him from room to room.” Brutus is aware when Finn is ill and simply stays by his side or places his head on Finn’s chest. Brutus will pace outside Finn’s room or scratch at the door until he is allowed inside since he abhors being apart from him for even a brief period of time. 

The brothers loathe being by themselves, even at night. When Finn was a baby, the protective dog slept on the rug in front of the crib, and now that Finn has graduated to a toddler bed, the two can snuggle up much more easily. 

Finn only started sleeping in his ‘big boy bed’ about a month ago, and that’s when Brutus started crawling up and sleeping in Finn’s bed every night. 

Knudtson explained. “It was almost as if he was lying next to him to keep him from rolling out of bed.” Even though it makes him feel a little less comfortable, Brutus travels wherever Finn goes.Then, Finn started getting out of bed to sleep on his floor. 

Knudtson elucidated. Brutus naturally started dozing close to him there as well. 

Now that Knudtson has relocated Brutus’ dog bed into Finn’s room, Finn will frequently want to cuddle up with Brutus on his dog bed instead of staying in his own. Knudtson recently captured their endearing bedtime routine on camera with a nanny cam. If Brutus is sleeping on the floor, Finn will take his blanket and get out of bed to cuddle up next to him. 

The sweet dog doesn’t mind being used as a pillow as long as his brother is at ease.
