Puppy Dumped In Right Lane Of Busy Interstate Sleeps Soundly In His Bed

In the midst of his grief, the young man thanked the puppy for all of the times they spent together, and she, of course, told him how much she loved him and how much he meant to him. He stated in this regard:

“Thank you, papa, thank you.” I’ve been in love with you since you moved in… I know you loved me as well.”

Users on social media were captivated by this heartbreaking moment. It has over 8 million views, over 1.5 million “likes,” and over 40,000 comments since it was launched.

People from all around the world came together to offer their sympathies; many associated with his past and remembered their own pets.

Cute Puppy Plays Peekaboo with Laughing Baby Human Sister

My parents brought home this tiny hooman about 6 months ago, and she’s been my best friend and playmate since day one! I love to hear her giggle and laugh at all the funny things I do, and she loves to play games with me.

Her favorite game is peek-a-boo! She gets a kick out of it, and I’m not quite sure why. If it keeps her happy, though, I don’t care. I’ll do anything to make her smile! Here we are playing peekaboo and I’ll tell you a little more about why babies think this game is so entertaining!

Boo! Ha! It gets her every time! Anyway, I was asking my mom why she liked this game so much (I do this to my older brother all the time and he does not think it’s that fun) and she told me about object permanence.

Apparently, up until a certain age, babies don’t realize that things that are outside their line of sight still exist. So, she basically thinks that every time I hide behind this chair that I’m gone forever. Then, when I pop up again, she gets super excited!

It’s a really funny thing to watch and it keeps her occupied, so our mom lets us play it as much as we want.

Uh-oh! Where did I go? She is probably so worried right now, but it’s okay because I always pop back up! One time we were playing this and she got so upset that I hid from her and she started crying. She does that a lot, the crying thing.

Puppies don’t cry like hoomans do; hoomans are much louder. I’m trying to think of another game to play with her but I can’t think of anything that she would find fun, since she isn’t walking quite yet.

I’m back again! See the difference in her smile? I love that I can get this kind of reaction from her. She really is the best little sister that a pup could ask for. Sure, she poops in the house and doesn’t get in trouble for it like I do, but that’s okay.

Sometimes we have to deal with a little poop from the people we love. I wish my mom would be a little easier on me about that though, because sometimes I don’t make it to the doggy door in time!

Alright, I’m off to plan some other games for the tiny hooman. I am hoping she will start walking soon and we can play “chase the squirrels” together. That’s my favorite game!

World’s smallest possum, once thought extinct, found alive on Australian island

Initially thought extinct, the tiny pygmy possum, also known as the world’s smallest possum species, has been found alive in Australia. The tiny creature was found on the Kangaroo Island, Australia, for the first time since the devastating wildfire that hit the region a year ago.

Due to the catastrophic blaze nearly 90% of the island was destroyed with so many species thought to be wiped forever. However, it seems that things look better than initially thought as over 20 animal species, including pygmy possum have been discovered alive.

The discovery had been made by the conservation group Kangaroo Island Land for Wildlife. “This capture is the first documented record of the species surviving post-fire,” fauna ecologist Pat Hodgens told Guardian Australia.

Craig Wickham, the managing director of Exceptional Kangaroo Island explained for NewsWeek: “Despite nearly 90 percent of the tiny dunnart habitat lost to fires, numerous animal numbers have since been detected. Their sightings, via motion-sensing cameras, is heartening for the Island after fears that habitat destruction would decimate the threatened nocturnal marsupial recorded numbers of between 300 and 500.”

Native to Kangaroo Island and Tasmania, there have been only 113 recorded sight of the pygmy possum which was also occasionally spotted in South Australia and Victoria. Weighing around 0,35 ounces, the possum is extremely hard to spot.

“He’s certainly not very common and, obviously, the summer bushfires burnt through much of that habitat that species had, but we were certainly hopeful that we would find them,” Pat Hodgens said.

“It’s very important now because it is kind of like the last refuge for a lot of these species that really rely on very old long, unburned vegetation.”

Last year’s bushfire season was absolutely devastating and it left a very deep print on Australia’s biodiversity with nearly three billion animals gone due to the blaze!

When a small dog joins our lives, it rapidly becomes an indispensable member of our family. Unfortunately, they still do not have certain important rights, such as the freedom to travel by plane. In truth, just a few airlines allow your pet to travel with your family, while the others force the dog to remain alone in the hold for the duration of the trip.

However, if our pet is ill, the situation becomes more problematic because he cannot be left alone for the duration of the travel. This was a major inconvenience for Bastian Reiser and Rebecca Seeberg, who were forced to sell everything and rent a private plane so their dog could fly over Switzerland.

Blanca is a sad dog suffering from laryngeal paralysis. When she and her family had to travel to Switzerland, they found numerous obstacles. Blanca needed to relocate from Spain to Switzerland, so they contacted different airlines to find a solution.

Due to his illness, the dog could not remain in the hold without the care of his loved ones. Unfortunately, no corporation wanted to go against them, so they were forced to find another solution.

So they decided to take the ferry to the peninsula and then drive to Switzerland, but the issues didn’t stop there. In fact, he was later advised that he couldn’t carry Blanca through the streets of France since she didn’t have a pedigree and was considered a dangerous breed.

His loved ones attempted to contact some animal organisations, but the responses were unsatisfactory, as they stated that many times, while crossing through France with inappropriate pets, they were withdrawn by their relatives.

A story with a happy ending Because they couldn’t leave Blanca on the street, the two didn’t give up. They decided to raise finances by selling all they owned and enlisting the assistance of their separate families in order to rent a private plane and allow the dog to arrive in Switzerland.

Blanca has already arrived in her new home and can remain with her loved ones for the rest of her life thanks to the perseverance of her family, proud to have two parents who love her more than anything else.

Wolf-dog hybrid on the loose for days in California finally found, reunited with owner

A days-long search for a large wolf-dog hybrid that got loose in California recently has come to a happy conclusion, as the animal is back safe with its owners. The large wolfdog had been on the run since Wednesday, prompting concern and an extensive search by the police in the North Bay region of California.

According to KTVU, there were 30-40 reported sightings. While there were no incidents of the wolfdog being aggressive, authorities did not know what threat the animal posed and didn’t know if it had an owner.

The Sebastopol Police Department put out an alert, along with a photo of the hybrid walking down the highway, urging people to contact law enforcement but not approach the animal.

Through social media, authorities learned that the wolfdog was not a stray but belonged to an owner from Santa Rosa; the escaped wolfdog’s name is “Shadow.” The owner joined the effort to capture Shadow and bring him home safe and sound, bringing along his two pet huskies.

But Shadow was in “flight mode,” and evaded multiple attempts to capture him. Authorities took precautions to look out for his safety: North Bay Animal Services Executive Director Mark Scott told KTVU that they closed down the highway out of fear that the wolfdog would get struck.

After multiple failed attempts, the owner, an animal care officer and a good samaritan were finally able to corner Shadow on Monday, calming him down enough to get a leash on him.

Everyone was thrilled by the happy conclusion to the story — most of all Shadow’s owner, who in photos is seen on the ground hugging his wayward pet:

“A big shoutout and THANK YOU to the vigilant community members who reported sightings of Shadow,” North Bay Animal Services wrote on Facebook.

“Your alertness and cooperation made all the difference in bringing Shadow back to where he belongs.”

“This beautiful reunion shows the incredible impact we can achieve when we all work together for the well-being of our four-legged friends. Thank you for being a part of this incredible community that cares for its animals.”

What a happy ending! We’re so glad Shadow is home safe and sound!

At first glance it looks like a normal picture – but at closer look it will strike your heart with fear

There are many insects out there that might be deadly, therefore we should constantly be extra cautious when outdoors, especially in the forests. In a recent Facebook post, Missouri Wildlife challenged the online community to identify what is hidden under the dried foliage.

Many people were perplexed and left scratching their heads over this challenge. “This is why you have to watch every step in the woods,” the caption stated.

The majority of users couldn’t see anything on the image. “They’re just stretching the truth. There actually isn’t a snake there, someone commented. Awesome camo! Another said, “I still haven’t seen it, even though I usually can.

Missouri Wildlife published a second image to which they circled the serpent after several people claimed they couldn’t see what they thought was a snake on the first one.

“Once you see it, you can’t unsee it, but I sure struck out without your marking it!” exclaimed someone.

The snake is a Copperhead, one of the most widespread venomous snakes in North America. Although their bites seldom result in fatalities for humans and their venom is very mild, the hemotoxins in their venom can temporarily damage muscular tissue, assault the circulatory system, and result in breathing issues.

The skin-damaging sharp fangs of these snakes make up for their lack of poison. If treated, the bite is reversible.

According to Live Science, copperhead snakes are pit vipers, like rattlesnakes and water moccasins, and have “heat-sensory pits between eye and nostril on each side of the head,” which are able to detect minute differences in temperature.

This allows the snakes to precisely strike the source of heat, which is frequently potential prey. Around 2,920 of the 7,000 to 8,000 snake bites that occur in the United States each year, according to study, are caused by copperheads.

After discovering three Copperhead snakes hidden in the grass, a dog owner in Fairfax, Virginia, recently called K2C Wildlife Encounters.

Thanks to their knowledge, experience, and keen eyes, wildlife control agents were able to locate the elusive snakes. Later, they shared two pictures of the snakes skulking in the grass and challenged viewers to find them.

“Need to draw a red hat on it so we can do a Where’s Waldo,” one person commented under the photo. The other photo showed the snakes inside a red bucket. “Look what happens when you have copperheads in leaves,” K2C Wildlife Encounters wrote in a Facebook post. “Magic, they disappear!”

“Snakes are often demonized in the media, and then myths and urban legends play on those created fears,” Bonnie Keller, K2C Wildlife Encounters cofounder, said. “Snakes of any species are much less likely to cause you harm than a dog, horse, cat [or] even a rabbit.”

Those who live in locations where snakes are likely to exist should educate themselves, Keller said.

“Learn about your local snakes so that you understand what they look like and where they are most likely to be found. Knowledge is power.”

If bitten by a snake one should seek medical help right away. Snakes, of course, are an essential component of the ecosystem, so if you see one outside, be sure to get out of its path. Call a pet service if you happen to find one inside your house.

With Gratitude, Wobbly Pit Walks With Casted Legs Straight To His Rescuer

No one knows how Riley, the emaciated dog, ended up in such a dire situation. Unable to walk and severely underweight, his rescuer, Donna, brought him to a nearby animal shelter for help.

That night, the staff at the shelter snuggled him in and made sure he was warm, offering him water to quench his thirst. The look in Riley’s eyes showed just how grateful he was to be receiving help.

With the goal of helping Riley enjoy the outdoors once again, the shelter staff patted a little red wagon and placed him inside, pulling him around the grounds.

As Riley held his head up high, it was clear that this small act of kindness brought as much joy to the staff as it did to him. This was the second chance that Riley desperately needed.

Determined to get back on his feet, Riley slowly began to show the will to stand up and walk. With encouragement from the shelter staff, he managed to take a few steps at a time, making progress each day. It wasn’t long before Riley was able to stand and walk on his own, surprising everyone with his determination and progress.

On one particular day, as a staff member was working, Riley got up, walked outside, and just kept going. Overwhelmed with emotion, the staff member couldn’t help but burst into tears at the sight of Riley’s incredible progress.

The once-emaciated dog was now on a mission, walking all by himself and showing no signs of stopping.

The shelter staff were shocked and overjoyed that Riley had started walking so soon and was able to do as much as he could. As word of his remarkable recovery spread, a gentleman came to the shelter to adopt a dog and had been following Riley’s story. Upon meeting him, the two instantly bonded, and it was clear that they were meant to be together.

Riley’s incredible journey is a testament to the power of love, determination, and second chances. His story serves as an inspiration to all, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a brighter future.

A Depressed Rescue Dog Is Delighted When She Is Finally Adopted

“A shelter is not a place for dogs,” said Shira Scott Astrof, for The Dodo, after successfully completing her adoption mission of another puppy. Although this experienced CEO of A.R.M. (Animal Rescue Mission) has dozens of similar completed tasks in her CV, she said this one was truly special and emotional.

Namely, her story begins in one of many animal shelters in Los Angeles. There, a scared rescue dog named Chole waits for her rescuer in her everyday corner.

But, the puppy with a sad face doesn’t even want to look her in the eyes. Shira realized that she had a difficult task ahead of her. Bringing Pup To The Light Of The Day

“If she had stayed any longer in that dark corner of the shelter, she would completely shut down,” Shira concluded dramatically. She saw it in her eyes and just knew that she needed to act quickly if she wanted to save this poor dog.

Darvish was a happy and bright young man, and Shira knew that he was the right person who would bring back the sunlight over Chole. So, the next day, she and Darvish, alongside her partners from A.R.M., came to rescue Chole from her corner of loneliness.

“Darvish and I walked her out, and she didn’t want to walk ’cause she was just so scared,” Shira recalls. She also said that Chole was even ready to go back to the shelter like she didn’t even believe that there was a whole world out of that one corner.

Fortunately, after a few attempts with the help of her partners and Darvish, she managed to get her into the car for a ride to her new home. One Hell Of A Ride

Even though it lasted for about an hour, the ride through the streets of Los Angeles was truly a roller coaster of emotions for Chole, and for Shira as well.

After a long time in that miserable dark corner, it seemed that this was just too much for her. Darvish said that Chole was so upset in the back seat of the car that Shira needed to sit next to her to calm her down. And, it seemed that the true magic happened then because Chole finally started to express her true love to her hooman friend.

Although still a bit shy, it was great for the first time. “She had those moments where you could tell that they know they are safe, but they just need to fully get there,” Shira stated, meaning that dogs like her need a bit more time to regain their trust, but in the end, it is always worth it.

Once they got to the house, Chole was again very terrified to get out of the car. It was just too many changes and emotions for her in a very short period of time. Aside from that, she was in her happy place with her rescuer.

It wasn’t easy, but you always need to get out of your comfort zone in order to get to the next chapter of life. And, just like she knew it, Chole bravely took her first step, got out of the car, and stepped into the house where her new life would soon begin.

From The Corner Of Pain To The Moment Of True Love And Happiness

It was obvious that Chole hadn’t yet broken through all the pain that she had suffered in the corners of the shelter. Because of that, one more time, she chose a corner to prepare for her next life, but this time, in her new home.

And, just like Shira said, she knew that Darvish was perfect for Chole. He was just full of compassion, and understood that the process was slow, but that they would reach the goal together. So, he just let her stay in her corner for the first day.

“On the third day or so, I just started sitting down next to her, and she slowly started eating from my hand meaning that she is slowly getting closer to me,” said Darvish.

And, just like he knew, the real change happened on the fifth day, after which Chole no longer wanted to be separated from her new best friend. She followed him everywhere, knew when he was coming home, and looked at him with so much love and appreciation, as only a man’s best friend can do.

“They definitely are soulmates and they definitely can not live without each other,” Shira concluded with a little tear in her eye, but a happy and proud one because she managed to create something special.

Dallas legend Linda Gray was sighted in Valencia, California, near her home, running errands. According to DailyMail.com, the 81-year-old actress was spotted in Costco on Wednesday when she stocked up on fruit and purchased a cozy blanket.

She was seen casually clothed in black sweatpants and a tan hoodie, pulling a cart, and then loading the goods into her car. She collected mail from a post office box to finish her tasks. The actress, who has a home in California, now maintains a low profile. On Wednesday, she was seen for the first time in three years in a public setting.

The seasoned actress, director, and former model is most known for portraying Sue Ellen Ewing, the patient wife of Larry Hagman’s on-screen alter ego J.R. on the vintage TV series.

After playing the part from 1978 until 1991, Linda went on to feature in a number of commercially successful movies and returned to the role in two Dallas reunions. She is a skilled theater actress as well; in a 2001 production of The Graduate, she played Mrs. Robinson.

The brunette beauty and Sylvester Stallone also worked together on Models Inc. from 1994 to 1995 and Oscar in 1991. She returned to Dallas for spinoffs in 1996 and 1998, and from 2012 to 2014, she again featured in the remake.

Last year, Linda posted on Instagram the heartbreaking news that her 56-year-old son Jeff Thrasher had passed away.
