Divers in Kavieng, Papua New Guinea, captured video footage of a jellyfish that’s only been sighted once before.

The stunning video was published on Scuba Ventures’ Facebook page.

“Saw a new type of Jellyfish while diving today. It has cool markings and is a bit bigger than a soccer ball and they are quite fast swimming,” the post read.

Previously, the extremely rare animal was sighted only once off the coast of Australia. “The first and only scientifically studied specimen was captured from the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef – about 43 km (27 mi) off the coast of northeast Queensland – on 2 May 1997. It was found within 5 metres (16 ft) of the surface.”

This baby bat named ‘Miss Alicia’ was rescued in Queensland, Australia, after a frightening encounter with a vehicle left her requiring immediate care.

She was taken into the caring hands of bat conservationist Denise Wade, and she is set to make a complete recovery without significant injuries suffered. She even managed to look cute as hell in the aftermath, if you haven’t realized.

When tiny Miss Alicia was recovering, swaddled in a comfy blue towel, Wade too} a video of her feeding time.

Given the fact that flying foxes possess a common sweet tooth (their food intake is made up mainly of fruit and nectar), you can imagine the way Alicia reacted when a fresh banana was offered to her.

It’s always very concerning when our pets seem sick or injured. You want to make sure they’re okay, and get them to the vet as soon as possible.

But while one man worried about his dog, he discovered it was the dog who was more concerned about him — and what appeared to be an injury turned out to just be his kind pet’s way of showing solidarity with him.

Russell Jones, from London, broke his ankle last year and ended up in a cast and on crutches. But then something strange happened: his dog, an 8-year-old lurcher named Billy, suddenly started limping, too.

Russell came concerned something was wrong with the dog’s foot, and took Billy to the vet the next day.  The appointment cost £300, or over $400 USD, and involved scans and x-rays… and yet, nothing seemed out of place.

“He walked in normally, and when he came out they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with him,” Russell told ITV. Even more bizarrely, Billy started limping again when they got home. And then, Russell’s wife Michelle caught the dog sprinting around the garden while Russell was not around.

They then pieced together the truth: that Billy was only faking a limp around Russell out of sympathy for him while he was on crutches!

It’s a remarkable show of empathy for a dog, a reminder of just how thoughtful and caring they could be. When his owner couldn’t get around like normal, Billy decided to “limp” in solidarity.

Russell recently posted a video of Billy limping alongside him, explaining the situation, and adding that he “loves” his dog — even though he cost him hundreds of dollars in pointless medical expenses.

The video has now gone viral. While some people joked that the dog was a “con artist,” most people thought it was a heartwarming gesture.

“He’s a very caring dog,” Michelle told ITV. While he might rack up the medical bills, Billy is just the kind of loving dog you want to have by your side!

Just like in the movie Dumbo, some animals are born with extraordinarily big ears — and what makes them different also makes them very special.

Big-eared animals can win hearts around the world and even end up in the record books. Now, one goat with unbelievably long ears is becoming a sensation — and is determined to set a world record, even if it means making a new one.

Simba, a baby goat from Karachi, Pakistan, has been making a splash in his home country thanks to a unique and head-turning attribute: he has enormous ears, measuring 54 cm, or about 22 inches.

Simba’s owner, goat breeder Mohammad Hasan Narejo, says that this unique kid has become a media sensation in Pakistan. He told AFP that in just a month, Simba achieved levels of fame that most celebrities only dream of, and brought him unprecedented attention as well.

“He has not only made me proud, but Pakistan, too,” Mohammad told AFP. “Within 10 to 12 days of his birth, he was already appearing in all the national and international media — and won a beauty contest.” Mohammad believes that Simba likely has longer ears than any goat in the world, and wants to make it official.

But unfortunately, Guinness World Records does not have a category for “Longest Goat Ears.”

But the owner says he has been working to verify the record with Guinness: “They have accepted our application. Within 10 to 12 weeks, a team of Guinness Book of World Records will be here in Pakistan to measure its ears,” he told Times of India.

According to their website, Guinness does have records for longest dog ears, longest rabbit ears, longest bat ears, and even the longest human ear hair, so surely they could add a new category for Simba.

But even as he waits to get accepted into the record books, Simba is living his best life, basking in attention and becoming a local celebrity. His remarkable ears are protected with special harnesses, and Mohammad takes some spiritual steps to make sure his goat stays safe from harm.

“We recite Koranic verses and blow on him to cast away the evil eye,” he told AFP. “Following a long tradition we inherited from our elders, we have fastened a black thread around him that is fortified with Koranic verses.” Simba is now reportedly living a “pampered existence” in Karachi, and the owner hopes that Simba’s fame is only just beginning.

“Simba’s Pakistan name must roam the whole world,” Mohammad said.

Wow, that is one incredible, unique goat! We hope Simba gets to set an official world record and continues living his best life!

The ‘world’s loneliest dog’ is getting a fairy-tale ending after six years in a shelter.

Freya has finally been adopted from Freshfields Animal Rescue Center in the U.K. according to a report from TMZ on Tuesday.

 A 500-pound lion named Bonedigger is best friends with Milo, a Dachshund. Bonedigger first met Milo and three other Dachshund puppies several years ago when he was just 4 weeks old.

The puppies seemed to instinctively know that Bonnedigger was mildly disabled (he suffers from a metabolic bone disease), and they wanted to protect him, according to Joe Schreibvogel of the G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.

Ever since they were adopted, this bed was their favorite napping spot. Now that they’ve gotten bigger, they’ve obviously outgrown their beloved cuddle bed, but that doesn’t stop them! They can still squeeze in and cuddle. “Renley is usually the boss, so when he wants to cuddle – they cuddle.

When he was little he used to meow and look for Lili if she wasn’t in the same room,” the kitties’ owner told Bored Panda. How cute!

 An orphaned baby kangaroo is winning the hearts of the Internet after a video of the joey hopping head-first inside a cop’s tshirt was posted online.

The 4-month-old joey named Cujoe was orphaned after his mother was killed in Western Australia.

He was pulled from his mother’s pouch and handed over to police in the small town of Cue, several hundred miles northeast of Perth.

Constable Scott Mason, who’s just become a father himself, is looking after the baby ‘roo.

 Earlier this week, a Russian icebreaker conducted a dramatic rescue miles away in the Artic. The crew from the Alexander Sannikov icebreaker saved the life of a missing dog, they found on an iceberg!

It turned out the dog was from Mys Kamenny, a small village in northern Russia. Naturarrly his owner was more than happy to find her dog was found alive after some many days in those tough conditions. The owner, named Svetlana, said Aika got lost after a walk nearby the village, but she still has no idea how that happened. She’s grateful to the kind sailor that rescued her pup as she says her dog would have not survive any longer if the crew wouldn’t find him.

The 'world's loneliest dog' is getting a fairy-tale ending after six years in a shelter.

Freya has finally been adopted from Freshfields Animal Rescue Center in the U.K. according to a report from TMZ on Tuesday. 

Freya the pooch spent the first 6 years of her life in a shelter and was rejected more than 18,720 times… so she got named ‘the world’s loneliest dog’ 

 This is an incredible video of a wild baby elephant trying to take her first steps right after being born! I’m amazed at how gentle and encouraging the elephant herd is towards the calf.

By surrounding her, the elephants are protecting her as well as helping her get up onto her feet! Some lucky travelers caught this on film at Chobi National Park in Botswana.

 A kid who has been bullied at school has found his genuine spirit animal.

The truth is, 7-year-old Madden from Oklahoma came into this world with a cleft lip and also heterochromia iridum (distinct color eyes), and some considered it could be amusing to tease the kid for his distinctive look.  

Fortunately, he found a way to handle the bullies. 

 Madden discovering Moon truly appears like a miracle against all probabilities. 

 “Heterochromia iridum is when a part of the iris has at least two colors. Complete heterochromia iridum, where the eyes are completely different colors all together, is quite rare, existing in less than 1% of the population, I’m told. That plus the cleft lips is exceptionally rare.”    

“We’re usually not spontaneous people, but we knew that we were meant to love this kitty. Moon, the kitty, and Madden are the perfect companions for each other. In a word full of bullies and hateful words, we will choose to chase love. I think it’s safe to say that this kitty is love, and was certainly meant to be part of our journey and Madden’s journey.”

 Pen Farthing, a former Marine and member of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom, created the charity Nowzad in 2007 and has dedicated his life to saving thousands of animals since then.

After receiving permission from UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, the guy has been working hard to get his crew and rescue animals out of Afghanistan, but it hasn’t been easy.

Following the fall of the Afghan government, the man began “Operation Ark,” a drive to try to safely transport his crew, as well as 200 cats and dogs, out of the country.

According to iNews, Pen said:

“I need to get them out of here as soon as possible. I’m not going to abandon them. Everyone is scared of what the future holds, even myself.”

The father was in a frantic race against time to save himself, his 25 Afghan employees, and over 200 animals, fearful that if they couldn’t be evacuated, militants would kidnap his staff’s teenage children.

Pen tried to gather about $200,000 to pay for a cargo jet and go to the United Kingdom. However, he needed to go through a number of legal hoops in order to get Afghan staff into the country.

Pen confirms that everything is indeed awful, and he also expresses his dissatisfaction with his country’s administration, believing that everything he has battled for in the past has been in vain.

Pen recalls arriving in Nowzad in 2006, and right there, in the middle of a quarrel, she met a dog who became her companion and whom she called Nowzad; the charity was established as a result of this touching incident.

To far, the sanctuary has rehomed over 1,700 animals, many of them were reunited with troops they met during the conflict. Moreover, throughout this period, the group has been able to teach over 500 veterinary students in Kabul.

I was unable to accept all of the animals from the shelter, which include around 140 dogs, 40 cats, donkeys, horses, goats, and cows.

Pen also added:

“We’ll have to part ways. There isn’t any other choice, unfortunately. There are 140 dogs and only 65 slots in my kennel. Some of the older and more wounded pets will have to be put down.”

Pen has kept his followers up to speed on his case via Facebook and other social media sites, and he has battled to complete his objective of relocating his crew and animals to a secure location.

Unfortunately, a fighter accidently fired his weapon when he was waiting outside the airport with his animals and crew after passing through a Taliban checkpoint. In addition, his party had to witness the airport suicide bombs, which shook the area and killed roughly 12 US soldiers and 90 Afghans.

Pen had given up transporting her animals and workers out of the nation for a while owing to a decision by US President Joe Biden, who modified the regulations of who could enter the airfield, he claimed in an interview with the BBC.

There’s nothing I can do about it. My staff has informed me that it is time for me to go. They do not believe that a foreigner is welcome in their country. I’ve been instructed to bring as many cats and dogs as possible by the staff. But I can’t get them through the Taliban checkpoints anymore.”

Following this dramatic scenario and the passage of time, the Nowzad charity announced that Pen, together with the rescued animals, was ultimately safe outside of Kabul. He was, however, compelled to quit his team.

On his Facebook page, Nowzad wrote:

“We are relieved to report that Pen and the Nowzad animals have safely exited Afghanistan.” However, we still have a lot of work to do because our fantastic Kabul team was not permitted to pass the last checkpoint.”
